Board approves increase in taxing authority

St. Paul school leaders voted last week to increase the district’s property tax asking authority by six percent, with the decision coming amid the board’s concerns about how changes in Nebraska’s state aid formula could impact the district’s finances in the future.

“Backyard Farmer” will record a live episode at the Nebraska State Fair in Grand Island on Monday, August 31st. Nebraska Public Media welcomes the public to this free event located in the Raising Nebraska Building, starting with a question-and-answer panel at 5:15 p.m.

MEMBERS of the Rotary Club of St. Paul lent a hand to feed the students during St. Paul Public Schools’ back-to-school night last week. The local Rotary Club helped serve a hot dog meal to those attending the open house.
