DCB Juniors rebound in districts

With an opening round loss to fourth-seeded Hi-Line, the Area C-6 Junior Tournament got off to a shaky start for the third-seeded Dannebrog- Cairo-Boelus (DCB) Juniors. However, on Saturday and Sunday, the locals put momentum back onto their side with two straight convincing wins over Ravenna and Cambridge- Arapahoe to secure a spot in the tournament’s semifinal round.

Nall-Sillivan prepping for national finals rodeo

Rylee Nall-Sillivan, a St. Paul High School student, closed out her sophomore season with the Nebraska High School Rodeo Association (NHSRA) in early June ranked the number one pole bender in the state of Nebraska. The achievement will see the equestrian make her way down to the National High School Finals Rodeo (NHSFR) at the Camplex Event Center in Gillette, Wyoming from July 16th until July 22nd, where she will vie for a spot in the national rankings.

Commissioners cap off June with marathon meeting

The Howard County Board of Commissioners’ final regular meeting of the fiscal year had proven to be a marathon last Tuesday, June 28th. While talk pertaining to the Howard County Sheriff’s Office and the Howard County Communications Center had dominated discussion in what had been an almost four-hour long meeting, a number of other topics had also come before the board.
