It was nearly a clean sweep on the track for the St. Paul Wildcats’ girls’ track team on Thursday.

Caden Ruhl came home from last Thursday’s Ron Priebe Invite at Gibbon with a cache of hardware, including one of the Centurions’ few gold medals.

The Central Valley links crew may not have come away with any hardware from last week’s St. Paul Invite, but the Cougars still managed to hold their own in a field full of talented competition.

Seven St. Paul students were recently named to the 2024 LouPlatte Conference Academic All-Conference Team. In order to be named to the conference’s all-academic team, a student must achieve an ACT score of 26 or higher.

After suffering consecutive losses to state-rated opponents and falling to 1-5 on the season, the St. Paul/Palmer Cats got back on track last week with back-to-back wins over Bancroft- Rosalie/Pender and Twin River.

The Central Valley Cougars owned the sprints at the Shelton Invite, with the Greeley County kids sweeping both the 100- and 200-meter races. On Thursday, Taylor McIntyre scored twenty points for the Cougars, with victories in both the sprints.
