I know it doesn’t make any sense, but being up on a ladder really emboldens me. The past two weeks, with Christmas coming at us like a freight train, I doubt that I am the only one who has spent a couple minutes—or in the case of the past weekend, a couple days—hanging from the top of a ladder.

Nebraska Plow Truck 26014, a Nebraska Department of Transportation (NDOT) snowplow out of St. Paul driven by Jeff Ogard, was rechristened last week, becoming Bill Nye the Frosty Guy.

The Showroom, a local home improvement retailer, recently moved to a new home. Founded at 1114 2nd Street, near Bootlegger, east of U.S. Route 281, in October 2022, the business marked its third anniversary by opening its doors in a more prominent location on the other side of the highway, at 207 Jay Street, last month.
Annual program benefits families in need

Howard County’s annual Christmas Cheer program is currently in full swing, once again connecting generous donors with local families who could use extra support during the holiday season. The program depends on financial contributions, clothing donations, and gifts to help families throughout the county.

Rogene Vopat hosted the Monday Nite Bridge Club last week with the hostess winning high prize, Harriet Steenson taking second high, and Jan Steenson receiving the traveling prize..
