AUXILIARY DONATES TO FOOD PANTRY

The community of Wolbach really came through on the request from the Wolbach American Legion Auxiliary Unit to donate items to the VA Medical Center food pantry in Grand Island. Among the items donated were sixteen soups, twelve canned meats, nine canned fruits, eighty-four canned vegetables, eighteen pasta products, eight pasta sauces, nine Knoor pasta and rice packets, twelve peanut butter, two jelly, fourteen cereals, nine evaporated and nonfat dry milk, and thirteen miscellaneous items.

Jerry Steenson of Rockester Hills, Michigan and Gail Seaton of Omaha were guests at the Larry Steenson family home this week. The two were in town to work at the Junk Jaunt at the Wolbach Community Center this weekend.

Homecoming celebrated in Wolbach over weekend

Excitement was in the air in Wolbach on September 19th and 20th. Homecoming weekend for the Cougars brought numerous events to the southern Greeley County community, including a parade, pep rally, and Wolbach Fire and Rescue Streak Feed leading into the football team’s face off against the Coyotes from Anselmo-Merna on Friday, and the eighth annual Ray Mapes Sons of the American Legion BBQ Cookoff Challenge on Saturday.
