At Elba, the parent- teacher- organizations (PTO) is comprised of six regular community members who do all the organizing and planning for events throughout the school year. Meagan Wysocki (president), Baylee Collett (secretary), Randie Spiehs (treasurer), Amy Wells (dedicated member), Nikki Fredrick (dedicated member), and Jackie Morrow (dedicated member).

A family of five was left homeless following a residential fire in St. Paul on Sunday, January 12th. The Jacob Weddle/Stephanie Lambracht family lives in the mobile home at 1121 Fourth Street in St. Paul. St. Paul Fire Chief Mike Becker said the three-bedroom home and all of its contents were destroyed in the blaze….When the St. Paul fire department arrived on scene, the home was fully engulfed in flames… Several explosions could be heard. Becker said they had been caused by propane tanks in the camper and the grill…Becker said that the fire marshal had been unable to determine the cause of the fire. He said the last truck left the scene at 12:30 a.m.

As of Sunday, the river was still frozen over. No open flow. We will see what this week brings, if the warmer weather opens it up without ice jams. The geese are still around. I see a rabbits occasionally running through the snow. On the cold, windy days, the deer were not moving much. At least, there were not many pictures on the game cameras.
