SPPS board calls for bond vote

Voters in the St. Paul school district will soon have the chance to weigh on in the first major facilities improvement project at St. Paul Public Schools in over a decade.

Wednesday night, during the St. Paul Board of Education’s regular January meeting, members of the board voted unanimously to approve a resolution to place a $17,975,000 bond issue before voters. The issue will be decided during a special election on March 12, 2024.

VLIEGER: Todd and Melinda Vlieger of rural Marquette are the proud parents of a baby girl, Chloe Vlieger, born November 28, 2023. Chloe was welcomed home by siblings Tate, Brooke, and Vivian. Grandparents are Bruce and Denise Rathman of Farwell and Steve and Verla Vlieger of South Dakota.

Mount Marty University in Yankton, South Dakota recently announced its Fall 2023 Dean’s List honorees. A Dean’s List honoree at Mount Marty University is defined as a full-time undergraduate student completing a full-time load of graded coursework with a minimum term grade point average of 3.5. Cub Scout Pack 121 in St. Paul is hosting a sign-up event at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church on Tuesday, January 16th at 6:30 p.m. Interested parents and boys in kindergarten through the fifth grade are encouraged to come and learn more about cub scouting.
