DAYS GONE BY

Body
“It was time.” That was what H. Petersen and Sons Lumber Company owner Bob Petersen, Jr. of Dannebrog said of the closing of the business in Dannebrog in December...The business had been in his family since 1885, when his great-grandfather, Hans Christian Petersen, purchased the lumber company in Dannebrog and renamed it H. Petersen and Sons Lumber Company. At that time, the lumber company was located where Oak Street Manor is today. It was eventually moved to a location on the highway, across the street to the south of the present Mel’s Service building. The final location was at 503 South First Street, on the southern edge of Dannebrog.
