Wildcats End Season at Districts

Body The St. Paul cross country team had plenty of practice tackling hills on the cross country course this season; however, last week, at the District C-4 Championship, the course was far from hilly.

Body Coming into their fall campaign, the St. Paul Wildcats’ boys’ cross country team had a big goal for the season. Following four straight years of securing the Lou-Platte Conference title on the cross country course, the Wildcats were hoping to extend that streak to five.

Body It was a special day in Elba last Friday, and, amid all the pomp and circumstance surrounding the homecoming festivities at Elba High School, the Purple and Gold were hoping to find the means necessary to squeak out a homecoming victory.

Wildcats Challenged by Tough Opponents

Body The St. Paul Wildcats opened a busy week on the hardwood with a hard-fought 21-25, 25-23, 22-25, 25-23, 15-17 loss to Columbus Lakeview. Jenna Jakubowski had a career-high twenty-nine kills in the match, and added two blocks and two aces.

Centurions Keep Pace at Conference

Body The strength of the LouPlatte Conference was on full display last Tuesday afternoon, when runners from all nine conference schools converged on the St. Paul Country Club for the conference’s annual meet.

St. Paul Stays Alive in Postseason Play

Body With an overall record of 20-9, the St. Paul softball team secured their spot in Friday’s C-6 District Final in Wisner after splitting games in the Subdistrict C-8 tournament Monday afternoon.
