The Showroom, a local home improvement retailer, recently moved to a new home. Founded at 1114 2nd Street, near Bootlegger, east of U.S. Route 281, in October 2022, the business marked its third anniversary by opening its doors in a more prominent location on the other side of the highway, at 207 Jay Street, last month.

Howard County’s annual Christmas Cheer program is currently in full swing, once again connecting generous donors with local families who could use extra support during the holiday season. The program depends on financial contributions, clothing donations, and gifts to help families throughout the county.

Taken from the files of The Wolbach Messenger Ten Years Ago, 2015 Nebraska punter and Greeley native Sam Foltz was named the Big Ten Punter of the year by both the media and coaches Monday. Foltz who was injured in the first game of the season and hauled off on a cart with a badly sprained ankle was back punting for the Huskers two weeks after injuring the ankle, even though he was only forty to fifty percent healed.

St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in St. Paul turned sixty in November. The church was organized in 1955 by Reverend Eugene Wekander. The congregation has been celebrating all fall with special events, and have welcomed the whole community to celebrate with them…On Saturday, December 5th, St. Mark’s will worship at the Old Farwell Lutheran Church in the Historical village at 6th and Indian Streets at 6:30 p.m. On Sunday, December 6th, this special worship service will be held at the church at 1306 Howard Avenue at 10:30 a.m. The public will welcome to attend both services.
