SMITH EARNS STATE TITLE

Body The Centurion Speech Team returned from the Class C2 state contest on March 26th ranked number four in its class and holding its first individual gold in almost forty years.
SHILOH SMITH earned the gold in Program Oral Interpretation as well as sixth place in Oral Interpretation of Serious Prose and Extemporaneous Speaking at the NSAA C2 State Speech Championships on Thursday.

Body BROEDY STARKEY MEMORIAL EASTER EGG HUNT Over 10,000 eggs gathered at annual hunt More than 10,000 eggs were gathered Sunday at the Broedy Starkey Memorial Easter Egg Hunt, marking the largest number in the event’s five-year history.

Bluejays see improvement at Rebels’ annual invite

Body The Elba Bluejays continued to prove that they have the manpower to pick up points on the oval last week. On Thursday, the Bluejays joined eleven other teams at the Arcadia/ Loup City Invite, with both the boys’ and the girls’ teams having strong showings at the Rebels’ meet.

Legion family hosts March meeting

Body The Wolbach American Legion Family met at the Legion on March 17th. There were four Legion members, two dual members, three sons, and three auxiliary members present.

Body Ten Years Ago, 2016 The Central Valley speech team has done well this season…At the State Class D-1 Contest on March 24th, two Cougars won medals. Chase Davis placed third in serious prose and Graeme Cuizon was fourth in poetry.
