Twin Loups Irrigation District Officials Prep for Water Delivery

With producers across Howard County starting to tackle work in the field, officials and employees of the Twin Loups Irrigation District (TLID) are gearing up for irrigation season. Twin Loups Irrigation District General Manager Mike Wells said on Monday that the TLID, which comprises 162 miles of open canals and 212 miles of buried pipeline, was working on repairs to “things that happened over the winter” and other spring work— like burning and cleaning weeds from the canals and making sure that turnouts are operating—as it worked to get “canals full and pipelines full” for the irrigation season.

Several St. Paul Public School (SPPS) students received quite a surprise when they congregated for what had initially seemed to be a typical school assembly on Friday, April 21st. After a year away, a St. Paul resident, serviceman, and father, Adam Powell, had returned home.
