The Centura girls secured fifteen total medals at last Tuesday’s Wood River Invite, including a firstplace finish by Lauren Suntych in the pole vault. Suntych, who has recorded the seventhbest vault in Class C this season, matched her season-best mark of 10-00 to best Southern Valley’s Cali Santifer for the gold medal.

Centurions finish in the middle of the field at Wood River meet Early in the season, the Centura boys’ golf team is still finding its footing on the links, but the Burgundy and Gray have already benefited from competing on their home course. Last Tuesday, the Centurions joined seven other varsity teams on the links at the Centura Hills Golf Club at Cairo for the Wood River Invitational.

Central City/Centura endured its first setback of the season last Tuesday but wasted little time bouncing back, falling 11-4 to Hastings at home before rallying for an 8-7 road victory over Holdrege just three days later.

Central Valley’s Taylor McIntyre didn’t miss a beat during Central Valley’s first outdoor track meet of the season. Last Thursday, McIntyre secured three gold medals at the Arcadia/ Loup City Invitational, helping the Cougars to a strong finish in the team standings.
