Circus to make stop in St. Paul

GCA Days and the county fair may be in the rear view, but that doesn’t mean that the summer fun is over. Thanks to the sponsorship of the St. Paul Area Chamber of Commerce, the Culpepper & Merriweather (C&M) Circus will be coming to town this Saturday, July 20th, bringing two shows in a big top and a variety of activities to the Howard County community.

J.I.L. ASPHALT PAVING COMPANY INCORPORATED of Grand Island began asphalting Central Valley Public Schools’ new track in Greeley on Wednesday, July 10th. The first pass of asphalt was three inches thick and was completed last week. The second pass of asphalt, which was expected to be completed early this week as weather conditions allowed, was to be two inches thick. Once the asphalt is all down, it must cure for around three weeks.

ST. PAUL HIGH SCHOOL CLASS OF 1984

THIRTY-THREE MEMBERS the St. Paul High School Class of 1984 gathered in St. Paul on Friday, July 12th for the class’s fortieth class reunion. Seventy-six members graduated with the Class of 1984, of which nine are deceased. Brenda Anderson Garner of Washington had the distinction of traveling the greatest distance to the reunion. In reviewing the river levels on Sunday, the South Loup, Middle Loup, and North Loup rivers peaked during the first part of last week. The South Loup River is at 235 cfs and the Middle Loup River is at 968 cfs, both above normal by about a third. The North Loup River is a bit below normal, at 588 cfs, at St. Paul.
