Central Valley improves record to 11-3 following busy week When the Ansley-Litchfield Spartans made the trip to Greeley County last Tuesday, the Black and Gold had just moved up two spots in the Class D-1 top ten, entering the triangular with the Cougars and Arcadia/ Loup City ranked third in the state. However, on their home court, the Cougars made a statement against the Spartans, sweeping Ansley-Litchfield 25-21, 25-20 to notch the team’s ninth victory of the year.

After dropping a pair of games to LouPlatte Conference foes on the gridiron, the Centura football team picked up its inaugural victory of the season last week. On the field on the south side of Amherst, the Centurions scored early and often in their 40-7 route of the Broncos.

Wildcats go 3-2 last week, including showing at Malcolm Coming into last week’s slate of games, the St. Paul softball team held a 3-4 record and, after a home battle with Centennial and a trip to the Malcolm Tournament, the Wildcats improved to .500 after going 3-2 throughout the week.

A balanced attack wasn’t enough to help Centura secure their first victory of the season on the football field last week. On Friday, the Centurions made the trip to Doniphan, where the Doniphan-Trumbull Cardinals leaned on their air raid offense to blow past the Howard County kids 35-22.
