Poppert Drops Thirteen in All-Star Event

Body Just days prior to being named the Grand Island Independent’s Girls Athlete of the Year, Olivia Poppert helped the LouPlatte Conference All-Star Basketball Team notch a 48-39 victory over the Southwest Conference All-Stars at last Thursday’s New West All-Star Classic in Minden.

Post 119 Teams See Mixed Success

Body Since splitting two games earlier in the week with Palmer-Wolbach-Greeley and Grand Island, the St. Paul Post 119 Seniors dropped backto-back games against Shelton/Gibbon on Friday and Aurora on Sunday.

Active Bats Help DCB Seniors Get Past Ravenna

Body The defending state champions made life difficult for the Ravenna Seniors last Tuesday. The boys from Dannebrog-Cairo-Boelus (DCB) typically don’t walk many batters, so when the Jays totaled just two hits in five innings, DCB was able to remain undefeated with a 10-0 victory.

Volleyball Tourney Winners

Body WINNERS of the Wolbach Memorial Day Sand Volleyball Tournament was the CG Trucking team. Members of the team, above, were Trevor Marlow, Colby Grossart, Joey Cadek, and Megan Beck. Earning second place in the tournament was the Pass & Dash team, below.
