Let’s take a different view of a popular holiday

Body So, how about we rethink Thanksgiving? Oh, I don’t want to take away the tradition of turkey and football and listening to Uncle Harold’s stories about the big war in which he never fought but he does remember what life was like back then.

What’s your story?

Body I was patiently waiting inside the front office of the last Wednesday for the delivery truck from Iowa to arrive with our newspapers when I stumbled into a conversation that ended with a deep dive into the annals of Nebraska high school sports history.

The local limelight contiues to shine bright

Body I don’t know about all of you, but for me it seems like almost on the regular I encounter a situation where my presence is required. Required not in the way that I am forced to attend events, but in the way that, if I don’t, my absence will be noticed.

A single Snickers bar never hurt

Body I have a confession to make, and it is a rough one. Late last month, I made the grievous error of purchasing one of those large bags of assorted candy, thinking that, just in case trick-or-treaters came to my house, I would have something to dole out.
