Sharon Jean Boehle

Sharon Jean Boehle, 77, of St. Libory, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 14, 2026, at CHI Health—St. Francis in Grand Island.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at St. Libory’s Catholic Church in St. Libory. The Reverend Sidney B. Bruggeman will celebrate the Mass.

Kathy Rathel, Mary Bejot, and Monica Fries will be the lectors.

Cathy Wieck will be the soloist and Kim Placke will be the organist.

Selections include “On Eagle’s Wings,” “Psalm 23,” “Amazing Grace,” and “Hail Mary, Gentle Woman.”

“I Will Always Love You” by Dolly Parton will be the recorded selection. “Sail Away” by Enya will be played at the Rosary service.

Colby Miotke and Shea Miotke will be the urn bearers.

Inurnment will be at a later date in the parish cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday, October 2nd from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the church, with a 7:00 p.m. parish rosary.

In lieu of flowers and plants, Sharon requested that memorials be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Peters Funeral Home of St. Paul is assisting Sharon’s family.

Sharon was born February 7, 1949, in Grand Island, the daughter of LeRoy Henry and Margery Ann (Rose) Buhrman, during the “Blizzard of 1949.”

The family moved to a small house in St. Libory when Sharon was about four years old. She was the oldest of thirteen children, and the family shared a very happy life together. She attended St. Libory’s Catholic School, where she was taught by the nuns through the eighth grade. She then attended Northwest High School in Grand Island, graduating with the Class of 1967. Sharon later attended Hastings Community College for one year.

Sharon married Bruce Antonson in June 1969. Shortly afterward, Bruce was stationed with the United States Army in Stuttgart, Germany. Their daughter, Christina Elizabeth, was born in April 1970.

After returning to the United States and buying a house, the couple welcomed their son, Eric Lee, in March 1973. Sharon’s children were her whole world, and they did everything together. She and Bruce divorced in 1986. Sharon worked in customer service at the Holiday Inn in Grand Island and later for the City of St. Paul from 1999 until retiring in 2014.

In September 2006, she married Dave Boehle of St. Libory, and they shared a beautiful and happy life together. She was also blessed with two grandsons, Shea and Colby Miotke. Sharon attended as many of their school and sporting events as possible, which she greatly enjoyed.

Sharon enjoyed many things in her life. She loved traveling, gardening, reading, oil painting, and hosting family gatherings for brunches, dinners, and holiday celebrations. Gardening was a little bit of heaven to Sharon, and she spent much time caring for her vegetables and flowers.

She is survived by her husband, Dave Boehle; children, Christina Miotke and Eric and Jennifer (Price) Antonson; grandsons, Shea and Colby Miotke; daughters and sons-in-law, Tiffany Boehle and Matt Dean and Cashmere Boehle and Steve Weeks; brothers, Dan Buhrman, Ed Buhrman, Steve Buhrman, and Joseph Buhrman; sisters, Becky Schleicher, Laurie Hovland, Mary Bejot, Kathy Rathel, Monica Fries, Rose Fuss, and Teresa Nowak; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; infant brother, Michael J. Buhrman; and sister, Anne Marie Buhrman.
