Myra Jean (Johnson) Glause

Myra Jean (Johnson) Glause, 79, of Grand Island, passed away on Monday, September 21, 2026, at CHI Health— St. Francis in Grand Island.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at Greenway-Dietz Funeral Home in Palmer.

Pastor Dan Boshart offered words of comfort.

Musical selections included “In the Garden” and “Old Rugged Cross.”

George Brosman and Joe Burnett were the pallbearers.

Honorary pallbearers were Jeff Glause, Keith Huryta, Ron Bender, Dan Enevoldsen, and +Bryan Glause.

Visitation was held one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the family to be designated at a later date.

Greenway-Dietz Funeral Home in Palmer is assisting the family.

Myra was born on April 19, 1947, to Vernon and Erma (Chadwick) Johnson in Grand Island. She graduated from school in Rockville in 1965. She married Ronald Glause in Rockville on December 28, 1968. Myra enjoyed making potholders, singing in choir, and cheering on the Nebraska Huskers.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Denita Burnett (Joe); sons, Jeff Glause; and George (Glause Goertzen) Brosman (Gabrielle); grandchildren, Katie Lundy (Matthew), and Gaven Burnett (Sarah); three great- grandchildren; and numerous other relatives; and friends.

Myra was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Glause; son, Bryan; her parents, Vernon and Erma Johnson; and mother-in-law, Ruby Hansen.
