Thank You Card

Body
I would like to express my sincerest thanks to St. Paul’s American Legion Post 119 for sponsoring my attendance of 2022 Cornhusker Boys State in Lincoln from June 5th through June 11th. At Boys’ State, I was able to experience, learn about, and gain an appreciation for the daily lives of those who run our country at the state, county, and city levels. Because of your generous contributions and support, I have gained a greater understanding of and respect for our country’s democracy while making valuable friendships throughout the week. I appreciate your selection!

Thank You Card

Body
I want to thank all of you who sent greetings, cards, flowers, special gifts, put my picture in the paper, visited, and provided food for the birthday meal. Thank you Larry and Darlene for the party at the lake for my 104th birthday.

Postcard Bill Discussed by County

A controversial bill, dubbed the “postcard bill”, became the subject of discussion on two occasions during the county’s regular meetings last week, broached both during the meeting of the Howard County Board of Equalization and, later, when a conversation between the Howard County Board of Commissioners and several county elected officials about Juneteenth briefly took a turn into budget discussion.
