Harriet Steenson was a Tuesday, afternoon guest of Marilyn Leslie at Spalding. Harriet also attended the Spring Tea at Faith Lutheran Church in Nysted on Sunday afternoon with Bev Detleffs, a gourd artist was the speaker and exhibitor.

CONTINUING THE TRADITION

Renovation the most recent in a series of changes at Dannebrog bakery Earlier this year, Kelsie and Justin Wilson kicked off their fourth year owning The Danish Bakery with a massive renovation, the latest innovation from a couple dedicated to growing their business while keeping it close to its roots. In 2019, the Wilsons were living and teaching at a bilingual private school in Columbia, their home of a little over three years, when, out of the blue, Kelsie got a call.

I checked the flows of the rivers on Sunday morning. The South Loup River is still running a little lower, at 235 cfs, compared to 241 cfs last week. The Middle Loup is up, running 1,340 cfs, compared to 1,110 cfs last week. We have several geese nesting at our place. Usually, we have baby geese in the first part of May. We will see how this year’s hatch does. I noticed my tulips have buds; none are blooming yet. One of the things I’ve enjoyed this past week (when the wind was not blowing), is, as the sun comes up, all the songbirds fill the air with their songs. They give me a peaceful start to my day.
