Bucket by Tae Soto helps Central Valley top Centura 63-62 Central Valley’s Tae Soto inbounded a pass at the top of the key, drove the lane, and threw up a shot with twenty seconds left to play in last Tuesday night’s game between the Cougars and the Centura Centurions to help the Cougars cruise to their third victory of the season. That bucket ultimately clinched the Cougars’ 63-62 win over their hosts, with a last-second three-pointer by Centura’s Cayden Anderson bouncing off the rim as the buzzer sounded.

Centura’s skid continues

The Central City Bison may be one of the top teams in the LouPlatte Conference, but last Friday night, the Centura boys’ basketball team put the Merrick County kids on upset-alert. Last week, in front of a sizable crowd inside the Bison Activity Dome in Central City, Centura never let their hosts stray too far on the scoreboard, with Centura’s Caden Ruhl having a chance to sink a last second shot and win the game.

SLADEK PACES ’CATS LAST WEEK Eighteen girls’ wrestling teams from across the state made the trip to Wood River on Saturday. Among those teams that took to the mat at Wood River Rural High School were the girls from St. Paul.
