Theresa E. Welch, 95, of St. Paul, passed away on Monday, April 24, 2023.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Greeley. Father Anthony Thekkekara officiated. Liza Strong-McCormick was the eulogist. The opening song was “Be Not Afraid.” Erin Welch provided the first reading from Peter 3:4. The second reading, from 2 Corinthians 5:1, 6-10, was read by Mary Leonard. The gospel was from John 14:1-3. The offertory hymn was “Amazing Grace.” Dawn Welch, Mariah Welch, and Sue Welch presented the gifts. Communion hymns included “On Eagles Wing’s,” and “How Bright is the Day.” The recessional was “How Great Thou Art.” Pallbearers included Matthew Welch, Robert Przybylski, Thomas Welch, Timothy Degnan, Kevin Welch, James Welch, Michael Welch, and Donovan Strong-O’Donnell.

Theresa was born on November 1, 1927 in Brayton, Nebraska. She was the youngest daughter of ten siblings. She was a longtime member of Sacred Heart Church, as well as an avid doll collector, and enjoyed the company of her family. Theresa also loved to travel with her family and was known in her family for being a terrific storyteller and the belle of the ball.
Theresa was a loving wife to the late Richard A. Welch; dear mother of Jane (Pete Dambrauskas) Welch, the late Tom (Dawn), Larry (Maria), Richard, Jr. (JoAnn), Robert (Sue), Therese (the late Mark) Degnan, Colleen (Jim) Mitchell; beloved grandmother of sixteen; great-grandmother of twenty-four; cherished daughter to the late Timothy and Nora Fenton; fond aunt to many; and good friend of Margie Pacelli.
