Lavern J. Miller
Lavern J. Miller, 75, of St. Paul, died unexpectedly, on Sunday, October 13, 2024, at his home.
Memorial services were held on Friday, October 18th at Peters Funeral Home in St. Paul. The Reverend Alex Borzych officiated.
“Amazing Grace” by Alan Jackson and “Drink A Beer” by Luke Bryan were the recorded selections.
Honorary bearers were Max Miller, Emily Rasmussen, Brian Wysocki, Sarah Miller, and Tonya Wolinski.
Inurnment was in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in Elba.
Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation.
Lavern was born on January 27, 1949, at St. Paul, the son of Roman J. and Lois M. (Hansen) Miller.
He grew up on a farm near Wolbach, where he attended Greeley County rural schools and Wolbach Public School. The family later moved to a farm in the Elba area, where he graduated from Elba High School.
After graduating, Lavern worked as a mechanic for Rainbo Bread in Grand Island and later for Bosselman Truck Stop, also as a mechanic. After retiring he lived in St. Paul, where he started a small engine repair business out of his garage.
He was a member of the Catholic faith.
He enjoyed fishing and his airboat.
He is survived by his siblings, Raymond and Dianne Miller of Grand Island, Ron Miller and Nina Glenn of Wolbach, and Patty and Richard “Dick” Wilson of Elba: and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roman and Lois Miller; and grandparents, Joseph and Katherine Miller and Hans and Marguerite Hansen.
