Kenneth W. “Ken” Pflepsen, 66, of St. Paul, died Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at Good Samaritan Society—St. John’s in Kearney.

Memorial services were held on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at Peters Funeral Home in St. Paul. Reverend Vince Parsons officiated.

Recorded selections included “Runnin’ Down a Dream” by Tom Petty, “Smoke a Little Smoke” by Eric Church, and “Here I Go Again,” by Whitesnake.

Military honors were provided by Carl Mogensen American Legion Post 119 of St. Paul and the United States Army Funeral Honors Team.

Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation.

Peters Funeral Home of St. Paul is assisting the family.

Ken was born on July 27, 1958, in Spencer, Iowa, the son of Thomas P. and Leona M. (Anderson) Pflepsen. The family moved to St. Paul in 1961, where Ken attended Sts. Peter & Paul School and graduated from St. Paul High School in 1976.

He entered the United States Army in May 1976 and was honorably discharged in May 1980.

Ken worked in construction in numerous states over the years.

He loved nature, the outdoors, hunting, fishing, trapping, and building and working with his hands.

He is survived by a daughter, Jade McCray of Grand Island; two grandchildren, Natallie and Beau; five siblings and spouses, Gloria and John Jordan of Plymouth, Minnesota, Janet Hake of Palmer, Elaine Pflepsen of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Gerry Pflepsen and Sandy Monroe of Nebraska City, and John and Veronica Pflepsen of Columbus.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Patrick Pflepsen; nephew, Carson Jordan; and grandparents, Charles and Monica Anderson and Peter and Rosalie Pflepsen.
