Joseph “Joe” Michael Lind, 25, of Worms, formerly of Grand Island, died unexpectedly on Saturday, November 18, 2023 in Worms.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at Jacobsen-Greenway-Dietz Funeral Home in St.

Paul. Pastor Mike Brill officiated. Music selections included “A Boy Named Sue,” “Ring of Fire,” “Angels Among Us,” and “Beer Barrel Polka.” Pallbearers included David Lind, Jose Acevedo, Pablo Rendon, Indnlecio Alteorta (Let), James Gray, and Neil Kermmoade. Interment was in the Cotesfield Cemetery.

Jacobsen-Greenway-Dietz Funeral Home in St.

Paul is assisting the family. Memorials are suggested to the family to be designated at a later date.

Joseph was born on February 23, 1998, the son of David and Amanda Lind, in Grand Island. He grew up in Grand Island and graduated from Grand Island Northwest High School in 2016. He had been employed as a Maintenance Mechanic at JBS Swift and Co. in Grand Island. In the past year, Joe and his friend, Jose, started their own business, known as Lind and Acevedo Handyman Service.

Joe enjoyed the outdoors and proudly helped his brother, David, with his trucking business. He loved to lend a hand when needed and enjoyed being a member of the Danish Brotherhood in Howard County. He participated in numerous parades throughout the years. Joe loved learning about History, and enjoyed trying to learn the German language. His hobbies included wood crafting, splitting wood, model trains, and listening to polka music.

Joe loved a good pumpkin pie while hanging out with his family and friends.

Thanksgiving was expected to be very difficult without his presence, and The Phonograph-Herald | November 29, 2023

he will be deeply missed by his family, his two cats, Shadow and Rooster, and dog, Dolly.

Those left to cherish his memory include his parents, Dave and Mandy Lind of Grand Island; grandma, Joyce Lind of Grand Island; brother, David Lind of Grand Island; sisters and brother-in-law, Connie and Asad Ali of North Carolina, Alexis Lind, and Breanna Lind, both of Grand Island; nieces and nephews, Ruby, Roxanna, Chris, D.J., Whalen, and Baby Lind on the way; aunt, Laci Shelton of Taylor; and cousin, Carreagan Endorf of Grand Island.

Joseph was preceded in death by his grandpa, Archie Lind; grandmother, Kathy Stoltenberg; and great-grandparents, Orval and Florence Roush.
