Donna Rae Kucera

Donna Rae Kucera, 88 of Palmer, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at Brookefield Park Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation in St. Paul, with her loving family by her side. Funeral services were held on Monday, April 21, 2025 at the United Methodist Church in Palmer.

Pastor Serene Samuel and Chaplain Michael Koenig provided words of comfort.

Melissa Butt was the eulogist.

Musical selections included “How Great Thou Art,” “Just a Closer Walk,” and “What a Wonderful World.”

Ryan Kucera, Preston Davis, Conner Stromberger, Kane Kucera, Kellen Kucera, and Dana Samuelson were the pallbearers.

Honorary pallbearers were Larry Happ, Brian Tibbetts, Andrew Tibbetts, Rick Harrahill, and David Samuelson.

Interment was at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Palmer. Memorials are suggested to the Palmer United Methodist Church or the Burton- Beyer American Legion Post 120 in Palmer.

Donna was born on July 12, 1936, the daughter of Carl and Naomi (Pratt) Samuelson in Palmer. She received her education in Palmer, graduating in 1954.

Donna was united in marriage to Billy “Bill” Kucera on March 16, 1957 in Palmer. She was employed at Palmer State Bank and the Palmer Co-Op. In 1976, Donna and Bill purchased and operated Palmer Implement and Irrigation Inc. for thirty-five years.

Donna was a member of the United Methodist Church in Palmer, the Burton-Beyer American Legion Auxiliary, Palmerettes, Loup Valley Homemakers, card club, and the United Methodist Women. When she wasn’t helping Bill, you could find her gardening or canning. She truly loved spending time with all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of sixty-eight years, Bill Kucera of Palmer; sons and daughters-in-law, Russ and Carolyn Kucera of Central City, Rodney and Cheryl Kucera of Palmer, Kerby Kucera of Palmer, and Todd and Lee Ann Kucera of Palmer; sisterin- law, Judi Samuelson of Palmer; grandchildren, Jennifer and Jerod Davis, Stephanie Stromberger, Ryan and Sarah Kucera, Melissa Butt and Brian Sack, Kayla and Jimmy Vann, Kersten Kucera and Ted Kohtz, Kassidy Kucera and William Bragg, Kane Kucera, Kellen Kucera, Katie Vlach, and Cody Elkins; great-grandchildren, Daevanie Obermeier, Charlotte, Alex, and Nora Kohtz, Kingston and George Sack, Preston and Alexis Davis, Conner and Taya Stromberger, Kayden Tyan, Alex Rollin, Carter Kuck, and Brady Kuck; and special friends, Teresa and Terry Gorecki of Dannebrog.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents; son, Sidney Kucera, who passed away in December of 1983; brother, Danny Samuelson; great- granddaughter, Hailee Vlach; and greatgreat- grandson, William Vlach.
