Beverly “Bev” Wolfe, 87, of Grand Island, formerly of Wolbach died on Thursday, August 14, 2025.
A service and celebration of Bev’s life was held on Wednesday, August 20th, at St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Grand Island. Burial followed at Hillside Cemetery at Wolbach.
Bev was born December 10, 1937, at Wolbach, to Harold and Viola (Swanson) Rother. She grew up in Wolbach, graduating from Wolbach High School. She went on to receive her master’s in teaching through Kearney State College.
While Bev was attending college, she was teaching at rural country schools. Bev then taught in the Centura school system and Grand Island Public Schools, from which she retired in 1998. Following her retirement, Bev taught GED courses at Central Community College.
Bev was a member of Beta Sigma Phi International and Alpha Delta Kappa. Bev was a past president and active member of the Platt Deutsche. She enjoyed playing cards with her friends and spending time at the casinos. Bev also loved to eat out, especially at Tommy’s Restaurant.
Those who cherish Bev’s memory include her daughter, Lynnette Marshall; son and daughter- in-law, Todd and Kristie Mason; grandchildren, Travis and Cassie Baier, Amber and Ryan Ross, Lindsey Marshall, Ashley and Ben Nielsen, Josh and Ashley Dalland, and Taryn Mason; great-grandchildren, Naleah and Zayden Baier, Owen, Samuel and James Ross, Camila and Luvaa Garrett, Leyton Dalland, Kynlee and Maycee Nielsen, and Hailey, Hunter and Hannah Dalland.
Bev was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Deborah Dalland; brother, Larry Rother; and infant sister, Karen Rother.
