Roland A. Trentman, 78, of St. Paul, passed away on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at his residence.
A celebration of Roland’s life was held on Friday, August 7, 2026, at the United Methodist Church in St. Paul.
Pastor Nicole Schwartz-Eck offered words of comfort.
Musical selections included “Amazing Grace,” “Horses in Heaven,” and “When the Cowboy Rides Away.”
Graveside services were held at the Elmwood Cemetery in St. Paul. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family for later designation.
Roland was the son of Alphonse and Mary Jane (Nielsen) Trentman born in Grand Island. He attended St. Libory Catholic School and graduated from St. Paul High in 1966. He then worked for various neighbors for several years.
Roland also worked at both livestock sale barns in Grand Island before working for Grand Island Veterinary Clinic while farming in St. Libory with his family. Roland then went to work part time for the State of Nebraska Brand Committee for thirty years.
He married Susan Graus on October 19, 1979.
Roland is survived by his wife, Susan; children, Paul and Kimi, Connie and Denyce, Doug and Maria, and Carrie and Kyle; grandchild, Grace; sister Marlene; and brother and sister-in-law, Neal and Mary. Roland will be missed by his various nieces and nephews.
Roland was preceded by in death by his parents.
