Judy M. Cox, 69, of St. Paul, gained her beautiful wings on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at CHI Health—St. Francis in Grand Island.
A celebration of Judy’s life will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at Jacobsen- Greenway-Dietz Funeral Home in St. Paul. Val Killinger will be offering words of comfort. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family to be designated at a later date.
Judy was born on September 26, 1956, to Glenn “Buck” Sr. and Helen (Kramer) Shriner in Grand Island. She graduated from Grand Island Senior High School in 1974. She was united in marriage to Boyd Cox, Jr. on July 2, 1974, in Grand Island. They were blessed with three daughters, Melanie, Melissa, and Jessica. Judy was a stayat- home mom who was dedicated to caring for her family, including her parents and in-laws until their passing. She was caring, loving, and had a great sense of humor and loved spending time with her family. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy. Judy enjoyed rodeos, WWE Wrestling, and doing crafts.

(Jessica) Urban of Central City; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Gary Shriner of Grand Island, Glenn (Janet) Shriner, and Kevin (Eileen) Shriner both of St. Paul; sister, Barbara Shriner; and grandchildren, Keefe (Kalee) Labart, Brianna Cassell, Heidi Cassell (Anthony Park), Trey Urban, Madison Dembowski, Kayla (Brandon) German, and Jadyn (Kenneth) Sisson. Judy was also a “GG” to six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents; daughter, Jessica (Cox) Urban; two sisters, Susan Bailey and Sharon Schirm; her mother-in-law and father-in-law; two nephews, Tommy Schirm and Shaun Morland Cox; as well as several aunts and uncles.
