Jane A. McIntyre, 96, of Grand Island, passed away on Monday, January 12, 2026, at Lebensraum Assisted Living in Grand Island.
A celebration of Jane’s life was held on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at the United Methodist Church in Wolbach. Inurnment was in the Hillside Cemetery in Wolbach. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Wolbach United Methodist Church, Hillside Cemetery, or the donor’s choice. Jacobsen- Greenway-Dietz Funeral Home in St. Paul is assisting the family.
Jane was born on August 20, 1929, to Frederick Lewis and Minnie (Marwood) Cooley in Clearwater. She grew up on a farm by Clearwater and attended District 70 School in Antelope County, graduating from Clearwater High School in 1946. She received her normal training and taught at rural schools in Howard, Nance, and Greeley counties. She lived with the Wayne and Irene Cook family while she was teaching. She was united in marriage to Thomas McIntyre on December 24, 1947, in Fullerton. The couple had a dairy farm, where they raised their six daughters. Jane was a devoted farm wife who enjoyed quilting, gardening, canning, and cooking. She also taught at country schools in the Wolbach area. She was a member of the 4-H council and served as a leader. Jane was also a member of the United Methodist Church in Wolbach and actively served on the Women’s Circle, American Legion Auxiliary, and the 4 Mile Club.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters and sonsin- law, Lorraine and Charles “Chuck” Paprocki of Columbus, Bonnie Zoucha of Fullerton, Margaret and Anthony “Tony” Koziol of Grand Island, Alice and Darwin Barnes of Grand Island, Jean and Shannon Dorcey of Wakefield, and Carrie and James Kolar of Grand Island; twenty-two grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; two great- great- grandchildren; one great-grandchild and one greatgreat- grandchild on the way.
Jane was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Thomas; grandsons, Steven Zoucha and Loran Zumbrunn; son-in-law, Larry Zoucha; three sisters; and one brother.
