Ellen Fay Kraning, 91, of St. Paul, passed away on December 23, 2025, at Brookefield Park Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation in St. Paul.
A Celebration of Life service for Ellen was held on Monday, January 5, 2026, at All Faiths Funeral Home in Grand Island. Family members greeted friends one hour prior to the service.
Inurnment was at the West Lawn Cemetery in Grand Island.
Ellen was born on November 4, 1934, in Valentine, to David and Iva (Potter) Foster. She grew up in the Valentine and Sparks areas and graduated from Platteview High School in Springview.
On April 9, 1955, Ellen married Carl Webb Jr.
They were blessed with three children, Clyde, Dean, and Faye. On July 30, 1983, Ellen married Richard Kraning.
Ellen was employed by Leon Plastics, Inc. in Alda. She was a devoted member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in St.
Paul.
In her spare time, Ellen enjoyed creating beautiful zipper art and gardening. She also had an extensive doll collection. Above all, she treasured her time with family, especially taking trips to the Stuhr Museum and Grand Island Zoo with her grandchildren.
Ellen had a deep love for animals, particularly her horses and dogs, and found great joy in caring for them.
Those left to cherish Ellen’s memory include her children, Clyde (Brenda) Webb of Clarksville, Ohio, Dean (Heidi) Webb of Grand Island, and Faye Walker of Grand Island; her grandchildren, Christopher (Jessica) Webb of San Antonio, Texas, Micheal (Leslie) Webb of Xenia, Ohio, Amelinda Webb of Flagstaff, Arizona, Melissa (Jeremy) Taylor of St. Paul, and Brian (Sarah) Birkby of Ravenna; as well as her great- grandchildren: Rylan Birkby, Brynley Taylor, Camila Taylor, Brecken Taylor, Aiden Birkby, Blake Birkby, Connor Birkby, Matthew (Bethany) Stevens, and Lela Stevens. Ellen is also survived by her brother, Wayne (Judy) Foster of Grand Island; a sister-in-law, Ann Foster of Grand Junction, Colorado; and numerous nephews and a niece.
Ellen was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Kraning; her parents, David and Iva (Potter) Foster; her three brothers, Francis Foster, Elden (Karen) Foster, and Kenneth Foster; and a niece, Melanie Foster.
