Jacque was born on August 3, 1951, in Grand Island, daughter of Eduard and Anabel (Hodgson) Wicht.
Jacque grew up in Cairo, where she graduated from Centura High School. Jacque met the love of her life, Larry Palacz, while in high school. She attended Kearney State College before she married Larry on May 22, 1971. They made their home in Grand Island. In this home, Jacque ran an inhome day care for many years. She also was employed in the dietary department at CHI Health—St. Francis.
Jacque enjoyed reading books and puzzles. She was handy with a saw and created wooden villages throughout her house. Jacque decorated the house for every holiday. She was a founding member of the card club for the last forty years. She could play pitch or pinochle for days with her sisters and brothers. Having friends over to her house for coffee usually ended with a Scrabble match. Jacque will be missed for her care for her family and friends.
Jacque is survived by her daughter, Katie (Andy) Cordes of Kewaskum, Wisconsin; grandchildren, Laila Cordes and Ethan Cordes; siblings, Vicki Brooks, Ed Wicht, Terry Wicht, Larry Wicht, Pam Wicht, Kevin Wicht, and Jerry Wicht; along with numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Jacque was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Larry.
