Gordon Arland Hanson, 69, of St. Paul, passed away, Friday, February 7, 2025 at the Howard County Medical Center in St. Paul.

Gordon chose to have his body cremated with private family inurnment services at the Hillside Cemetery in Wolbach. Vicar Abigail Vetick officiated.

Peters Funeral Home of St. Paul is assisting the family. Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation.

Gordon was born on December 2, 1955, the son of Arland and Evelyn (Solper) Hanson, in Bottineau, North Dakota. He graduated from Bottineau High School in 1974. He loved to play hockey in high school and later on an adult team. He also really enjoyed watching his son, Jeremy play hockey.

He was united in marriage to Linda Schoonover on January 13, 2003, in St. Paul. Gordon worked as a Union Pipe Fitter for many years.

He loved hockey, NASCAR, hunting, and riding his Harley.

He is survived by his wife, Linda; son, Jeremy and Ngoc Hanson of Cedar Park, Texas; daughter, Linnzi and Scott Aberle of Minot, North Dakota; eight grandchildren, Autumn, Sydney, Pearl, Zane, Jakob, Calob, Eli, and Eva; his siblings, Janice and Wayne Stavang, Marie Norstegaard and Allen Bailey, Naomi and Tom Carlton, and Duane Hanson and Daniela Allen Bartsch; Linda’s sons, Travis Unkel of Watertown, Wisconsin and Mitch Miller of Biloxi, Mississippi; and two grandchildren, Zander Unkel and Maribelle Miller.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Arlys Larson; and brother, Michael Hanson.
