Leon D. Parrish
Leon D. Parrish, 79, of St. Paul, formerly of Ashland, passed away Monday, January 13, 2025 at CHI Health—St.
Francis in Grand Island. Celebration of life services were held on Friday, January 17, 2025 at the American Legion Post #129 in Ashland and on Sunday, January 19, 2025 at Peters Funeral Home in St. Paul.
Inurnment will be at a later date in the Ashland Cemetery in Ashland.
Memorials are suggested to Nebraska Game & Parks Wildlife Conservation Fund.
He was born October 8, 1945 in Wahoo, the son of Leonard and Loraine (Heldt) Parrish. Leon attended grade school in South Bend and graduated from Murdock High School in 1963.
Leon worked as a heavy equipment mechanic for various companies.
Leon was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and sipping on a red beer.
He was able to enjoy his beer even in his final days at the hospital. He loved attending all his grandchildren’s activities.
Leon is survived by his daughters, Tina Guenther and her significant other Rick Johnson of Ashland and April Parrish of Fremont; grandchildren, Alex and Wyatt Guenther; Leon’s significant other, Deana Kole of St.
Paul; Deana’s children, Harold (Rhonda) Krolikowski, Jude Dean, Kayleen Grudzinski, Geri (David) Rademacher, and Susie (Nate) Worm; Deana’s daughter- in-law, Sandra Krolikowski; niece, Christee (Dennis) Schroeder; and other relatives and many friends, including his good friend, Theresa Coplen.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Loraine Parrish; son, Robert Parrish; sister, Donna (Gail) Baum; stepson, Norman Krolikowski; and nephew, Mark Baum.
