Jennifer L. “Jenni” Klanecky
Jennifer L. “Jenni” Klanecky, 40, of St. Paul, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 26, 2024 at Howard County Medical Center in St. Paul.
Mass of Christian Burial was held on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in St. Paul. Reverends Vince Parsons, Alex Borzych, and James Hunt concelebrated the Mass and were assisted by Deacon Neil Baquet and Deacon Candidate Phil Lukasiewicz. Burial was in the Elmwood Cemetery in St. Paul.
James Bahensky was the lector and Travis and Kelly Klanecky and Brett and Catherine Klanecky were the gift bearers.
Linda Kezeor was the pianist. Dan Nielsen, Cindy Peters, Stacey Keller, Mary Gregoski, and Tami Reilly were the vocalists.
Selections included “Here I Am, Lord,” “On Eagle’s Wings,” “Parable,” “In Every Age,” and “Be Not Afraid.”
“Fly to the Angels” by Slaughter was the recorded selection at the cemetery.
Joshua Christen, Waylon Christen, TJ Kosmicki, Wade Christen, Ryan Burkhardt, and Jason Hatt were the pallbearers.
Shelley Votruba, Joy Quinn, Brooke Lukasiewicz, Michaela Hurt, and Sarah Gorecki were the honorary pallbearers.
A special presentation was made by the Nebraska Nurse Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers and plants, memorials are suggested to the family to establish a nursing scholarship in Jenni’s name.
Peters Funeral Home of St. Paul is assisting the family.
Jenni was born on November 4, 1984, at Broken Bow, the daughter of Tom and Janie (Olson) Christen. She grew up on the family ranch east of Anselmo and attended Anselmo-Merna Public Schools. She was a 2003 graduate of Anselmo-Merna High School.
Jenni then attended the University of Nebraska at Kearney and later the University of Nebraska Medical Center, where she received her bachelor’s of science degree in nursing in 2007. After graduation, she moved to Grand Island, where she worked at St. Francis Medical Center.
She was united in marriage to Jamie L. Klanecky on September 12, 2009 at St. Anselm’s Catholic Church in Anselmo. The couple first lived in Grand Island, and later that year they moved to St. Paul. Jenni worked for Internal Medicine in Grand Island and, in June 2015, she began working at Howard County Medical Center in St. Paul, where she held various positions at the medical center and was currently the manager of chronic care.
She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, its CCW, and was also very involved in rural health care in Nebraska. She was active in her children’s school activities by helping with the annual “Roar Run,” PTO, and Wildcat Booster Club.
Jenni enjoyed camping, boating, baking, playing volleyball, and coaching her children in sports. She also liked cows; walking her dogs: Jax, Sadie, and Cooper; shopping; and dancing in the kitchen with Jamie. She dearly loved her husband, kids, family, and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Jamie; children, Madison, Jace, and Josey Klanecky, all of St. Paul; parents, Tom and Janie Christen of Anselmo; grandmother, Ruby “Toots” Christen of Broken Bow; brothers and spouses, Joshua and Jamie Christen of Merna, and Wade and Afton Christen and Waylon and Lanay Christen, all of Anselmo; in-laws, Jim and Brenda Klanecky of St. Paul; brothers-in-law and spouses, Travis and Kelly Klanecky of Wood River and Brett and Catherine Klanecky of St. Libory; grandparents-in-law, Dennis and Dera Klanecky of St. Paul, Tom Stanczyk of Ashton, and Peggy and Dan Morrow of Ashton; and thirteen nieces and nephews: Jackson, Bryce, Easton, Claire, Cash, Kate, Beau, and Quinn Christen, and Ethan, Ali, Carter, Calvin, and Colton Klanecky.
Jenni was preceded in death by her grandparents, David Christen and Marion “Pooch” and Elaine Olson.
