Vanice Heloise (Vincik) Bahensky of St. Paul went to meet her Lord after 106 years of living an incredible life. She passed away peacefully, with her family by her side, on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at Brookefield Park Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation in St.

Paul.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, August 29, 2024 at the United Methodist Church in St. Paul, with interment at Rose Hill Cemetery in Palmer. Pastor Dorthea Fairbanks officiated.

Val Killinger was the pianist.

Musical selections included “How Great Thou Art,” which was sung by Wilber Medberry; “Precious Lord, Take My Hand,” “On Eagle’s Wings;” and “Hymn of Promise.”

Pallbearers and honorary bearers were Scott Fagot, Andy Etherton, Rocky Ondracek, Tyson Ondracek, Mitch Whalen, Devon Stanczyk, Mike Frandsen, Matt Frandsen, Kim Schlittenhart, Matt Bixler, Skiler Ramsey, Damon Brower, Mark Christensen, Lee Williams, Lane Zimbleman, Dusty Stanczyk, Evan Pease, Casey LaHonta, Zach Frandsen, and Royce Schlittenhart.

Memorials in Vanice’s memory are suggested to United Methodist Church in St. Paul, the fire departments in St. Paul and/or Palmer, or the United Methodist Ladies in Faith.

Jacobsen- Greenway- Dietz Funeral Home in St. Paul assisted the family with funeral arrangements.

Vanice was born on June 4, 1918, to James and Esther (Scarborough) Vincik, in Palmer.

She attended District 73 School in Howard County. She was united in marriage to Lyle Bahensky of Palmer on March 31, 1936 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. They made their home in the Gage Valley, with the exception of living two years in Lorane, Oregon, where Lyle ran a small logging business.

Vanice enjoyed her flowers and yard work, handwork, quilt making, as well as making, writing, and sending heartfelt cards to loved ones.

She was a member of the St. Paul United Methodist Church, where she was baptized. She was active in her Circle work and the United Methodist Women (UMW) at church.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son and daughter-inlaw, Larry and Darlene Bahensky of St. Paul; daughter and son-in-law, Arlene and Jim Frandsen of Oro Valley, Arizona; grandchildren and their spouses: Shari and Scott Fagot, Pam and Rocky Ondracek, Lisa Stanczyk, Mike and Mary Frandsen, Matt Frandsen and Laurie Frappier, and Paula and Kim Schlittenhart; nineteen great-grandchildren and their spouses; twenty-one great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Vanice was preceded in death by her father, James Vincik; stepfather, Frank Vincik; mother, Esther Vincik; beloved husband, Lyle Bahensky; and stepsister, Helen Schlueter.
