Millie was born to Frank and Anna (Urban) Sevenker in Ord on February 28, 1929. She attended Ord Public School, graduating in 1947.

She was united in marriage to Joseph Murphy on February 18, 1948. To this union, two daughters were born, Linda and Pat. The couple later divorced, but remained good friends and attended all family gatherings together.

Millie worked at various places in Ord and retired from the Ord school system as a cafeteria employee. She was a great cook and enjoyed cooking for her family.

Her greatest enjoyment was visiting her daughters and their families at their lakeside homes in St. Paul. Family gatherings were an important aspect of her life. All who knew and loved her will remember all the good times and memories that were created during those events.

Love of family was the most important part of her life.

The highlight of residing at Brookefield Park Skilled Nursing and Rehabilition in St. Paul had been when her daughter, Linda, would bring her fur baby, Bella, along for visits. That dog brought lots of smiles, hugs, and laughter into Millie’s life. She anticipated those visits, and they always brought happiness to her day.

Millie was a lifetime member of the American Legion Auxiliary.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Linda Vargason and fiancé, Gerald Woodgate, of St. Paul and Pat and Gary Fey of Lincoln; grandchildren, Cassandra Fey of Phoenix, Arizona and Jessica and Jeremy Giardini of Allegany, New York; and two great-grandchildren, Olive and Gracen Giardini.

She was preceded in death by her parents; former husband, Joe; sister, Lorayne Hurlburt; and son-in-law, Walter Vargason.
