Patrick A. Larson, 83, of Clarks, died peacefully on Friday, July 12, 2024 at his home.
Services were held on Monday, July 15, 2024 at Peters Funeral Home in St. Paul. Reverend Nicole Schwartz-Eck offered words of comfort.
“Amazing Grace” by Johnny Cash was a recorded selection.
Casketbearers included John Keen, Eli Larson, Rogan Kimball, Matthew Helvey, Kris Kietzke, and Bryson Kyes.
Burial was in the Elmwood Cemetery in St. Paul, with graveside military honors provided by Carl Mogensen American Legion Post 119 of St. Paul and the United States Army Funeral Honors Team.
Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation.
Patrick was born on May 19, 1941, at San Francisco, California, the son of George Willard and Marian (Hansen) Larson. When he was an infant, he moved with his parents to St. Paul. He grew up in St. Paul where he graduated from St. Paul High School in 1959.
He served in the United States Army from May of 1961 until May of 1964. Upon his discharge, he returned to St. Paul, where he worked with his step-father, Wendell Davis, in his welding shop.
He was united in marriage to Linda L. Tomasiewicz on December 19, 1967 in St. Paul. The couple lived in St. Paul for several years before moving to Houston, Texas, where Patrick worked as a machinist. The family lived in various cities until moving to Clarks, where he lived the rest of his life.
Patrick loved to read and work on logic puzzles. He also could talk for hours about his beloved Cornhusker football team.
He is survived by his wife, Linda, of Clarks; six daughters, Mary Helvey of Clarks; Susan and Spinks Edwards and Rebecca and Matt Keen, all of St. Louis, Jennifer and Mike Ames of Winterset, Iowa, Christy and Tim Kimball of Columbus, and Lisa and Jeff Kyes of St. Louis; sixteen grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and a brother, Joe Larson.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother and step-father, Marian and Wendell Davis.
