Robert “Bobby” L. Bonczynski, 63, of Boelus, passed away on Monday, May 13, 2024, at his home.

His family greeted friends on Friday, May 17, 2024, at Jacobsen- Greenway-Dietz Funeral Home in St. Paul.

A celebration of Bobby’s life followed on Friday at the funeral home.

Words of comfort were provided by Val Killinger. Musical selections included “When I Get Where I’m Going” and “One Wing in the Fire.” Burial was in the Soulville Cemetery near Boelus.

Memorials are suggested to the family.

Bobby was born to Paul and Martha (Carlo) in 1960 in Grand Island.

When he was young, he was one hell of a ball player. He enjoyed baseball, softball, and basketball. He graduated from Centura High School in 1978 and worked at the Gibbon Packing Plant for many years. He then worked for the Ravenna Cheese Factory, before returning to the Gibbon plant.

He was also employed with Case New Holland, which he enjoyed.

He loved watching all sports, hunting, fishing, and watching wildlife.

He loved his Busch Light beer, driving the back roads, and gardening.

He took pride in what he grew. Bobby will truly be missed.

Bobby was married to Cindy Thomas on September 10, 1988, to which three daughters were born: Ashley (Nathan) Simpson, Alicia (Mike) Gorecki, and Amanda Bonczynski.

Others left to cherish his memory include his six grandchildren, Kennedy and Jordan Simpson, Karsen, Mattie, Mason, and Bryce Gorecki and an extended daughter, Breanna Johnson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Larry; nephew, Marty; and motherin- law and father-inlaw, Kenny and Elaine Thomas.
