Melvin Raymond Brahatcek, age 62, of Grand Island, passed away on Monday, January 22, 2024 at The Cedars at Broadwell.

A funeral service was held on Monday, February 5th at All Faiths Funeral Home. Dan Naranjo officiated. A visitation was held on Sunday, February 4th at the funeral home. Interment was at the Grand Island City Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation. Condolences can be left at www.giallfaiths.com.

Melvin was born February 2, 1961, in Grand Island, to Raymond and Patricia (Greenwalt) Brahatcek. He grew up in Grand Island and attended Grand Island Central Catholic High School.

He was united in marriage to Lisa Hudson in November of 1979. To this union, one child was born.

He enlisted in the Army in 1982 as an armor crewman and was honorably discharged in 1986.

He was employed with Case New Holland for thirteen years, went on to Hornady as a machinist, and then was a driver for Tyson Foods before retiring.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and anything outdoors. He loved to ride his motorcycle and liked to help people by participating in poker runs. He met many great friends and brothers over the years.

He is survived by his children, Misty Brahatcek of Lincoln, Dustin Anderson of Osceola, and Krystle Croker of Bellingham, Washington; grandchildren, Alexander and Allie Anderson and Laura Nichols; special friends, Dave and Cheryl Callahan; his beloved dog, Buster; and numerous cousins, other relatives, and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents.
