Steve Allan Frear, 67, of Dannebrog, died unexpectedly on September 18, 2023 at his home in Dannebrog.

A celebration of Steve’s life was held on Friday, September 29, 2023, at Livingston Sonderman Funeral Home in Grand Island. Pastor Mark Oberbeck officiated. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the National Rifle Association, Pheasants Forever, or Ducks Unlimited.

Jacobsen- Greenway-Dietz Funeral Home in St. Paul assisted family.

Steve was born on November 14, 1955, to James and Shirley (Strickland) Frear, in Oxford. He graduated from Aurora High School in 1974. He was employed by Case New Holland for several years. He was a member of the NRA. Steve enjoyed hunting pheasants on the farm in Oxford, shooting clay pigeons, and fishing for catfish on the Republican River. Steve also liked classic cars (especially Mustangs) and watching horse racing at Fonner Park.

Those left to cherish Steve’s memory include his brothers and sisters- in-law, Roger and Jacki Frear of St. Joseph, Missouri, Ken and Nancy Frear of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and Rod Frear of Lincoln; sister and brother-in-law, Pamela Frear-Otalora and Edgar Otalora of Moody, Alabama; uncle, Jack Frear of Oxford; nephews and nieces, Eric and Tara Frear, Kaitlin, Kassidy, and Trenton Simmons, Ashley Gerhardt, Peyton Frear, and Madison and Cooper Otalora; and several cousins.
