Leonard Lyions Passes at Age 65
Leonard “Leo” R. Lyions, 65, of St. Paul, passed away on Monday, April 10, 2023 at Bergen Mercy Hospital in Omaha, with his family by his side.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, April 13, 2023 at the United Methodist Church in Wolbach. Pastor Mike Anderson officiated. Music selections included “Just a Closer Walk With Thee,” “The Dance,” and “On Eagles’s Wings.” Pallbearers included Travis Henning, Ryan Wenn, Alex Freeman, Aiden Freeman, Donald Lyions, and Larry Collingham. Interment was in Hillside Cemetery in Wolbach.
Memorials are suggested to the family to be designated at a later date.
Leonard Raymond Lyions was born on April 28, 1957, in St. Paul, the son of William and Ethel (Henke) Lyions. He attended Wolbach high school and graduated in 1975.
Leo met the love of his life, Heather Timmerman, and they were married on May 21, 2005 in Grand Island. Together, they enjoyed traveling to Florida and spending time together. He had a love of farming, tending to his garden, and spending time with his dog, Daisy.
Leo is survived by his wife of seventeen years, Heather Lyions; brotherin- law and sister-in-law, Ryan and Joy Wenn of Lincoln; sisters-in-law, Jennifer Hanson of Florida and Deb Lyions of Wolbach; in-laws, Linda and Arnold Wenn of Grand Island and Scott Timmerman of Iowa; and by numerous nieces , nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Leo was preceded in death by his parents and nephew, Shawn Sack.
