Local youth celebrate National 4-H Week

From fairgrounds to classrooms, community gardens to robotics labs, 4-H youth in Howard County are proving they’re not just ready for the future—they’re Beyond Ready. During National 4-H Week, celebrated October 5th until October 11, 2025, local clubs will share how 4-H equips young people with the skills, confidence, and resilience to lead in a world full of opportunity and change. As America’s largest youth development organization, 4-H empowers six million young people nationwide with handson learning experiences through clubs, camps, school programs, and community events.

Career fair features strong participation

Approximately 310 students from St. Paul, Centura, and Elba public schools participated in this year’s Howard County College/Career/ Military/Patrol Fair at St. Paul Public Schools (SPPS) on Wednesday, September 24th. There, students from the county’s three districts explored their futures at roughly thirty booths set up by colleges, universities, technical schools, local and area employers, and several branches of the armed forces.
