Students explore courthouse during event

On Monday morning, seniors from Howard County’s three school districts made their way to the courtroom on the third floor of the county courthouse for Howard County Government Day. The annual event, put on by American Legion posts 333, 119, 241, and 201 with support from Howard County, brought students from Centura, St. Paul, and Elba to the county seat to learn a bit about how county government works.

STEENSON ATTENDS DISTRICT 6 FALL ROUNDUP

Jan Steenson, president of the American Legion Unit #236 Auxiliary, attended the District 6 Fall Roundup held at Post 126 in Broken Bow on Sunday, October 12th. The joint session began at 11:00 with the call to order by District 6 Commander Brian Rapp. The session included the Invocation, Pledge of Allegiance, POW/MIA flag ceremony, singing of the national anthem, and reciting the preamble.

DONATIONS

The Wolbach Fire Department and Rescue Squad recently received multiple donations from Diane Bade. Bade made donations in honor of the birthdays of Jerry Cook and Shirley Cook. Additionally, a donation was made to the fire department from the special fund at Trinity Lutheran Church.

Ten Years Ago, 2015 The family of Ken Inman hosted an 80th birthday open house birthday party in his honor Saturday afternoon at the Wolbach Community Center. Those attending were his wife, Shirley; and 11 of their 13 children and families.
