Area Athletes Battle at Burke

KYRA WOODEN of Centura secured her sixth-place medal at the NSAA State Track and Field Championships earlier this month by clearing 9-06 in the girls’ Class C pole vault.

SYDNEY DAVIS waves from the medals stand on Saturday afternoon. Davis placed fifth in the Class C high jump alongside competitors from Norfolk Catholic and Southern Valley.

KEATON LEMBURG represented the Centurions in the boys’ 200-meter dash prelims during the first day of the Class C state track meet. Lemburg placed nineteenth in the event.

GAGE SACK caught some wind during the prelims of the boys’ Class B 200-meter dash on the track at Omaha Burke.

CHARLEE WEGNER anchored St. Paul’s 4x800-meter relay team at the Class B state track meet earlier this month.

CENTRAL VALLEY’S Taya Engel placed sixth in the girls’ pole vault at this year’s state track and field championships in Omaha. Engel cleared 9-00 at Omaha Burke.
