Eugene was born on October 27, 1934, in St. Paul, the son of Henry and Margaret (Ogard) Jorgensen. He grew up in St. Paul, where he graduated from St. Paul High School in 1953.

He was united in marriage to Carolyn J. Buettner on September 17, 1955, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Elba. The couple first lived in Grand Island, where he worked for O’Hara Plumbing. In 1956, they moved to St. Paul, where he and Carolyn raised their seven children and he joined his father and brothers in the family business, Jorgensen Electric. PeeWee retired and sold the business when he was in his late seventies. Carolyn passed away on August 21, 2016, and he continued to live in his home the rest of his life.

He was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus Council 1918. He was a thirty-year member of the St. Paul Volunteer Fire Department and longtime member of the St. Paul Chamber of Commerce, St. Paul Country Club, and past president and active member of the former St. Paul Jaycees. He was also very active in the St. Paul AA since 1986, sponsoring many people over the years.

He enjoyed woodworking, golfing, was a huge Diet Coke lover, and told the best colorful jokes and stories.

He is survived by his children and spouses, Mark and Karen Jorgensen of Johnston, Iowa, Brad Jorgensen of St. Paul, Denise and Doug Novak of Carlsbad, California, Chris and Theresa Jorgensen of Parker, Colorado, Lisa and Randy Jerabek of St. Paul, and Melissa and Dean Trampe of Amherst; eighteen grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, DeAnne O’Hara of Grand Island.
