Virginia Alice Munyon was born October 30, 1929 in Kirwin, Kansas to Ralph and Goldie Sarchet. She entered into rest, with family by her side, on Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at the Howard County Medical Center, in St. Paul, at the age of 94.

She and her sister, Dorothy, were raised by their maternal grandmother, Lizzie Roach.

She attended Agra High School, graduating in 1947. She had just recently attended her seventy-seventh class reunion.

Virgina was united in marriage to Doren Munyon on January 8, 1948 in Agra, Kansas.

The couple was blessed with two daughters, Janet and Jeanette.

They made their lifelong home in Agra where she continued to live for the next sixty-eight years.

In 2017, she moved to Nebraska to be closer to her daughter. Virginia worked as a bank teller at Farmers National Bank and as an assistant to Doctor F. Lee in Agra for over thirty years and then the Phillips County Medical Clinic until her retirement in 1994.

Virginia was a member of the Agra American Legion Auxiliary, taught Sunday school, sang in the church choir and solos at the First Christian Church in Agra, and was currently a member of the First Christian Church in Phillipsburg, Kansas.

She always looked forward to getting together with her Red Hat friends, playing cards, jigsaw puzzles, going to dances, and car races.

She especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great- grandchildren’s sporting events, plays, music programs, dance recitals, birthday parties, and holidays spent with them or any other reason to celebrate. She was extremely proud of each of them. She was well known for her delicious homemade pies and her famous baked steak and seven-layer salad for family holidays. She rarely missed a chance to go somewhere and when she did, she always had the perfect jewelry to accompany every outfit.

Virginia was fun loving, always enjoying life to the fullest. Her youthful personality made her a delight to be around.

She truly cared for all and she loved hugs and I love you’s shared with her family and friends.

She will be missed by everyone that was blessed to know her.

Survivors include her daughter, Jeanette Wieser and husband, Ben, St. Paul; grandchildren, Joel and Carolyn Mc-Cormack, Eldon, Missouri, Judd and Janell McCormack, St. George, Kansas, Ryan and Brandi Redinger, Kearney, Shayln and Cody Behnk, St. Paul, and Dylan and Paige Wieser, Fullerton; great-grandchildren, Kainen McCormack, Alyssa and Kyla McCormack, Makenna Redinger and fiancé Bryson Schultz, Tyson and Tate Redinger, Becken Wennekamp, Hoyt and Kit Behnk, Cam and Redden Wieser and baby Behnk due in October; sister, Dorothy King and husband Howard, Scott City, Kansas; her nieces, nephews, and cousins that were special to her; and many cherished friends.
