Edna E. Webb Services Held
Edna Elnora Webb, 104, of St. Paul, died on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at the Howard County Medical Center in St. Paul.
A celebration of Edna’s life was held on Saturday, July 23, 2022 at Jacobsen-Greenway-Dietz Funeral Home in St. Paul. Pastor Steven Neal officiated. Val Killinger served as the pianist. Musical selections included “It Is Well With My Soul”, “Amazing Grace”, “Far Side Banks of Jordan”, and “Shall We Gather at the River”.
Burial of ashes was in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Palmer. Honorary pallbearers included her grandchildren: Charles Oeltjen, Doug Oeltjen, Tim Wells, Carmen Oeltjen, Brian Hirsch, Chandra Stroupa, Brandon Webb, Christopher Webb, Danielle Webb, and Gaylen Shaw.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family to be designated at a later date.
Edna was born on August 31, 1917 to Elmer and Anna Marie (Ruff) McCoig in Eddyville. She grew up in the Fullerton and Wolbach areas and attended school at North Star Rural School. She met her future husband playing kittenball. She was united in marriage to Arthur Jurgensen Webb on August 6, 1936 in Columbus. They farmed for many years and had a dairy herd while raising their four children: Nancy, Juanita, Katherine, and Randy. After marrying Art, the couple joined the Trinity Lutheran Church in Wolbach. They retired from farming in 1999 and moved to St. Paul, where they joined St. Mark’s Lutheran Church. Farming was Edna’s life, along with taking care of the kids and Art. She was an avid fan of Nebraska Women’s Volleyball and Nebraska Football.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters and son-in-law, Nancy Oeltjen of St. Paul, and Juanita and Bernard Hirsch of Lincoln; son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Vicki Webb of Kearney; sister, Wynona Kennedy of Albuquerque, New Mexico; her grandchildren and their spouses, Charles Oeltjen, Doug and Michelle Oeltjen, Pam and Tim Wells, Carmen Oeltjen, Brian and Tanya Hirsch, Chandra and Ron Stoupa, Brandon and Jenny Webb, Christopher Webb, Danielle Webb, and Gaylen Shaw; twenty great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Anna Marie McCoig; husband, Arthur Webb; daughter, Katherine Shaw; grandson, Fredrick Oeltjen; three sisters; and four brothers.
