Civil War veteran and Medal of Honor recipient honored at cemetery
Just before noon last Wednesday, May 15th, at St. Paul’s Elmwood Cemetery, a Last Soldier Dedication was conducted in honor of Civil War veteran and Medal of Honor recipient Leander “Lee” Herron (1846–1937), the last known Union soldier of the Civil War to pass away in Howard County.
